“I just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful weekend, I hope we can do it again sometime.”

“We had a great time as we always do in Culebra. It’s always fine margins which adds to the excitement. If we hadn’t happened to be looking in the right direction… or if we had arrived… 30 seconds later… But that’s part of the fun of it.
I hope you keep enjoying your Spanish lives. We appreciate your enthusiasm and your generosity with all that fabulous knowledge you have built up over the years. Its truly inspiring what you do but I’m quite sure its not always sunshine and wolves. We could see the hard work that lies behind it all.”

“Dear Margaret and John,
Thank you so much for giving us such an amazing experience of life in Sierra de Culebra. We had such a good time…. What we loved was being outdoors in such beautiful and remote surroundings , walking in the hills and valleys and learning what life is like in that area.
We saw some wonderful birds too, and of course the little Iberian hare was an added bonus!”

“Now that we are back home and have gathered our thoughts we must congratulate John and yourself on organising such a wonderful experience for us. We really enjoyed all of the spectacular wild life that we saw and the visits to the little villages were very interesting. Being able to sample local foods at lunchtime was very good since it was something that would not have been possible without John’s help. The trip down the Douro gorge was spectacular and, once again the organisation and scheduling of the birds was admirable. The hotel was very well situated for the various observation sites and provided comfortable accommodation and enjoyable dining…
Thank you once again for making our trip so enjoyable and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.”

“Hi Margaret and John
Firstly a very big thank you to John for making our trip to Andujar so memorable. What a stunning area, excellent game viewing and very comfortable accommodation. I can’t believe we were so lucky to see such a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. We really appreciate John’s expertise and look forward to seeing his photos and videos.”

“Hello Margaret & John
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks again for a great, action packed holiday!
We really enjoyed it.

“Hi John and Margaret,
We had a fantastic time with you, we love returning to real Spain. We were spoilt for birding since it is the quiet time of the year in the UK and from our reckoning we had 107 species. Seeing such an elusive creature as the wolf was quite an honour considering how many hours we spent looking for them – we hope for a rematch at some point in the future!
Have a great season
Wishing you both all the very best”
John and Janet. June 2016.
Thanks for a wonderful week once again – so many wolves – …lots of deer, birds and other wildlife – including my first Iberian Hare – wildlife watching doesn’t get much better than that. Roll on next year – if you’ll have me!
Linda. September 2016.
Thank you again to you and Margaret for your hospitality while I was in the Sierra de la Culebra. I had an excellent time. I enjoyed what I saw but also learnt a tremendous amount by speaking with you and seeing your interactions within the area. It was exactly the trip I wanted to experience with wolves and I hope to make it back sometime to do it again.

Many thanks Margaret. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and appreciated the efforts you both put in to make it a success. Have a good Christmas … and we’ll definitely keep in touch.

Thanks once again for all your dedication and hard work, we all had a great time on this trip – we’ll have to sort out a lynx rematch at some point!! Such a wonderful region to visit. We look forward to watching critters with you in the future
All the very best.

“For anyone who longs to really get away to experience nature, exotic wildlife and birds, culture at its oldest and finest, and some of the nicest people in the world, this is the trip to take. My daughter and I were treated to a custom exploration of the land of wolves in Spain, with morning and evening “stakeouts” to try to view wolves, and afternoon adventures to neighboring villages and Portugal. We did see wolves! And we met the local rangers, and learned much about how the Iberian wolf survives alongside humans and livestock in Northern Spain. The sights were beautiful everywhere we went. We have never seen so many enormous birds: bustards, golden eagles, Egyptian vultures, white storks and more. John is an expert birder and naturalist. The local people are welcoming, happy, and loud! The Remesal Hotel where we stayed was just lovely, and breakfast and dinner were delicious local foods. John and Margaret are the best hosts ever, and we miss them already. ”

I found the trip thoroughly enjoyable. It was an authentic experience in terms of wild life viewing…It was also authentic regarding the experience of Spanish life…John’s ability to spot the birds and animals and identify them straight away was incredible….I was thrilled with the storks in the village. No doubt the locals take them for granted, but for me it was the first time. They were so close, their nests so huge, their flight so impressive and their greetings so enchanting. We also enjoyed the excursions in the middle of the day. Hearing the nightingale close to your home and the golden oriole in the Douro gorge were memorable experiences. (We wouldn’t have known what they were if John had not told us). We saw a kite lifting up a snake on the return drive from the Douro. Pine marten, hare and bee eaters were also seen.
A rewarding aspect of the holiday was the fact that we were taken to a remote and sparsely populated region where little English was spoken or understood….Last but not least, there was your own wonderful company. … I have rarely spoken so much at meal times as I found myself among kindred spirits.
